About Amsterdam Editions

Amsterdam Editions is an independent city and culture magazine about Amsterdam. The site is published in Dutch and English and covers art and museums, photography and film, design and media art, the city's neighbourhoods, the annual calendar and nightlife.

Why these subjects

The domain amsterdameditions.com was previously used by a publisher of art and new media, which published artists' work on CD-ROM, the internet and other media. The present site is a different project and is not affiliated with that publisher. The choice of a section on media art and design is, however, a nod to that history.

Method

Articles are based on public sources, such as the websites of museums and festivals, the regulations of the City of Amsterdam and the Dutch government, and reference works. Where an article relies on a specific rule or date, the source is listed below the article. Event dates are only given once the organisers have announced them. Facts that cannot be verified are left out.
